Former Nevada assemblywoman, Las Vegas city councilwoman and current Nye County Justice of the Peace Michele Fiore has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of defrauding donors to a charity, the Department of Justice said Wednesday morning.

Michele Fiore, 53, is charged with four counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, The U.S. Justice Department announced Wednesday.

Fiore stands trial after a federal grand jury indicted her in July on several counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Fiore “engaged in a scheme to defraud charitable donors of more than $70,000 for her own personal benefit,” a superseding indictment from August said.

Fiore is accused of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, crimes that each carry a possible penalty of 20 years in prison.
