Ever since mass layoffs at Halo maker 343 Industries, fans have wondered what the future will hold for the famed sci-fi shooter. It turns out Microsoft still has big plans for Master Chief, and they involve multiple upcoming projects as well as the franchise making the jump to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine,

Microsoft has announced that new Halo games will run on Unreal 5 Engine. Growing out of 343 Industries, Halo Studios plans to create two new Halo games simultaneously with cutting-edge technology. The switch from the proprietary Slipspace engine to Unreal 5 aims to bring a new dawn for the franchise while maintaining authenticity.

Newly crowned Halo Studios has announced that future Halo projects will be made on Unreal Engine 5, which opens the door further for a Halo release on PS.
