The recently released 'Amaran', starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has made a strong impact at the box office. However, the film was marred by a disturbing incident when petrol bombs were thrown at a cinema hall screening it on November 16.

Some unidentified miscreants hurled petrol bombs at a cinema hall screening actor Sivakarthikeyan's biographical drama, 'Amaran', early on Saturday, police said.

Unidentified assailants threw petrol bombs at the Alangar Theatre in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district early this morning, where the film Amaran was being screened. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported at this stage.

The attack on Alangar Cinemas, where the film Amaran was being screened, took place amid ongoing protests over its portrayal of Muslims and a local dispute. However, police have not confirmed the link.
