Kansas City Current's Temwa Chawinga, the new record holder for goals in an NWSL season, comfortably tops the African Women's Power Rankings again for this past month.

Temwa Chawinga scored her jaw-dropping 20th goal of the season as the Kansas City Current beat the San Diego Wave 4-1 in KC.

The Kansas City Current are the 2024 NWSL X LIGA MX FEMENIL Summer Cup champions. Kansas City defeated NJ/NY Gotham FC, 2-0, on Friday at Toyota Park in San Antonio. Temwa Chawinga, the NWSL Golden Boot leader, scored two goals in the final. It is the first trophy for the club since their 2021 expansion into NWSL.

Kansas City Current striker Temwa Chawinga scored twice in the first half as her team beat NJ/NY Gotham FC 2-0 on Friday night in the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup final.

Chawinga scored 20 goals in 25 games, setting an NWSL record for the most in a season while claiming the Golden Boot as well.
