FLINT, MI – The 17-year-old shot and killed over the weekend by Michigan State Police troopers has been identified as an investigation into the incident continues.

A Michigan State Police trooper on Thursday rescued a construction worker who was trapped beneath 700 pounds of drywall after an accident at an Upper Peninsula post, officials said.

A 17-year-old was fatally shot by Michigan State Police in Flint after allegedly being found armed and fleeing. An investigation is ongoing and officers are on administrative leave.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot by police Saturday evening in Flint, according to a tweet from Michigan State Police Third District. Wontoshia Johnson of Flint, 46, said she is the mother of Rayvon Shahid who was shot 500 feet away from his home while traveling to a nearby convenience store.

A 17-year-old man was shot and killed following a confrontation with Michigan State Police on Nov. 2 in Flint. According to the Michigan State Police, the teen was armed when he had "contact" with police.

The troopers involved in the incident have been placed on leave, which is standard protocol following such incident, the department posted on X. However, it’s unclear how many troopers were involved.
