Saoirse Ronan has dropped a huge bombshell after revealing that she was actually rejected from the Harry Potter franchise as a child star. The 30-year-old became a household name at a very young age thanks to her stint in 2007’s Atonement, for which she landed an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress when she was just 13.

Saoirse Ronan lost out on the role of the young witch Luna Lovegood in the 'Harry Potter' franchise to Evanna Lynch and admitted it has "stayed with me over the years".

"I got to read out a scene that was going to be in Harry Potter, and it was the coolest thing ever," she said of auditioning to play the iconic character.

Saoirse Ronan has reflected on losing out on playing a character in the Harry Potter film series. The 30-year-old Lady Bird actress had auditioned to play Luna Lovegood in the smash film series - but lost out on the role to Evanna Lynch.

Looks like Saoirse Ronan never got her letter for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress revealed that she had auditioned for the role of Luna Lovegood,
