Core developer Peter Todd was revealed as Nakamoto in the documentary shot by Cullen Hoback. Todd, however, denied being Nakamoto in a previous email to CoinDesk.

Peter Todd, a Bitcoin core developer, has gone into hiding over fears for his safety after an HBO documentary named him Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

The documentary, titled Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, is directed by Emmy-nominated Cullen Hoback, who also directed and produced the HBO documentary series Q: Into the Storm, which investigated the origins and impact of the QAnon conspiracy theory movement. The Bitcoin documentary airs on October 8.
