Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-Yi) has made landfall in the vicinity of Panganiban, Catanduanes, the state weather bureau said on Saturday night.

Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-Yi), which is projected to reach super typhoon category, is expected to make landfall over Catanduanes tonight or Sunday, November 17, morning.

MANILA, Philippines — Super Typhoon Pepito has made a landfall in Panganiban, Catanduanes on Saturday evening, November 16. In its Facebook post, state weather bureau PAGASA said Pepito made landfall at 9:40 p.m. As of 8 p.m., Pepito was located over the coastal waters of Viga, Catanduanes.

Ahead of its expected landfall late Saturday, Nov. 16, or early tomorrow in Catanduanes, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) continues to pose a “potentially catastrophic and life-threatening situation” for the northeastern Bicol region.
