Parts of the world will see a special annular "ring of fire" solar eclipse. Other areas will see a partial eclipse.

A “ring of fire" eclipse of the sun will cross the Pacific and the tips of Argentina and Chile. During Wednesday's annular solar eclipse, the moon will obscure all but a ring-shaped sliver of the sun.

While April's total solar eclipse wowed millions, October's astronomical spectacle will only be viewed by a lucky few.

An annual astrological phenomenon - which will be visible to the naked eye - is just around the corner, and stargazers are eager to hear how they'll best be able to get a look-in. Known as a 'ring of fire' solar eclipse, the exciting event will be visible in a matter of days, but only to a select few.

Some people across the world will be able to see another eclipse, for the first time since April’s solar eclipse. The annular eclipse, or a ‘ring of fire’ eclipse, will be visible over parts of South America on Wednesday, October 2. In some parts of the word, people will also be able to see a partial eclipse.

According to NASA, this annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth while it is at its farthest point from Earth.

On Oct. 2, an annular solar eclipse will be visible from the Southern Hemisphere. During this event, the moon doesn't completely cover the sun from our perspective on Earth, so it leaves a "ring of fire" around the moon.
