Voters in Colorado's 4th Congressional District will know soon who will represent them in Congress for the next two years.

Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert won a return ticket to Congress, defeating Democrat Trisha Calvarese in Colorado's deep red 4th Congressional District, according to the unofficial returns on Tuesday night.

Boebert, who served two terms in Colorado’s Third, switched districts this year, fearing her Democratic opponent – who nearly beat her in 2022 – would force her out of Congress. The Fourth is a more conservative district than the Third, but switching districts led to charges of being a “carpetbagger .”

Republican Lauren Boebert was leading in the 4th Congressional District where she is seeking a third term, but not by the wide margin that might be expected in a district considered the safest GOP district in the state.

First elected in 2020, Boebert is one of the most controversial members of Congress and a prominent member of the House Freedom Caucus, the furthest-right faction on Capitol Hill.
