The Haryana unit of BJP on Sunday expelled eight party leaders for “anti-party activities” over their decision to contest as independent candidates against the party’s official picks for the assembly polls.

Elections for the 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 5 and the results will be declared on October 8.

The list includes the names of former minister Ranjit Chautala and former MLA Devendra Kadyan. Chutala is contesting from Rania, while Kadyan is fighting from Gannaur.

The BJP on Sunday announced the expulsion of eight leaders, including two former ministers Ranjit Chautala and Devendra Kadyan.
