Lamont Campbell, 51, was wheeled into a downtown courtroom Tuesday strapped into a safety chair. He remains jailed in lieu of more than $5.5 million bail.

Prosecutors filed murder, kidnapping, robbery, and carjacking charges Monday against the man suspected of hijacking an LA Metro bus last week, murdering a passenger, and leading police on an hour-long chase through downtown Los Angeles.

Anthony Rivera was shot multiple times while riding a Metro bus on his way home from a shift at Dodger Stadium as a parking lot attendant.
