A Fort Smith man died after a high-speed chase resulted in an accident involving four vehicles on Saturday evening, according to a news release from the Arkansas State Police.

FORT SMITH -- a 25-year-old Fort Smith man died due to injuries he sustained Saturday in a wreck following a high-speed pursuit that began on Towson Avenue in Fort Smith.

A Fort Smith man died in a crash that happened during a high-speed police chase Saturday evening. The Arkansas State Police says 25-year-old Calvin Eubanks was a passenger in a car driven by 23-year-old Kevin Swafford.

FSPD said in a release that officers responded to a crash at Zero Street and 31st that "occurred as the result of a pursuit from an outside jurisdiction."

ASP identified 23-year-old Kevin Swafford of Paris as the driver of the vehicle. His passenger, 25-year-old Calvin Eubanks, died at the scene of the crash.
