The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has extended federal assistance to residents in 30 additional Georgia counties following the impact of Hurricane Helene.
Gov. Brian Kemp and other lawmakers wanted FEMA to swiftly declare roughly 90 counties a disaster. The agency initially declared 11 counties a federal disaster.
