The Golden State Warriors and forward Jonathan Kuminga aren't close in negotiations regarding a contract extension, according to ESPN's Shams

The Warriors and Stephen Curry are relying on Jonathan Kuminga to emerge as a star player this season, and he could be set to balloon up the NBA ranks.

The Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga have until the Oct. 21 deadline to agree on a rookie scale extension. If they don't reach a deal, the fourth-year forward becomes a restricted free agent next year. More importantly, he becomes a player who could be available in trades.
