Frances Tiafoe has been fined $120,000 for his profanity-laden outburst at a chair umpire during the Shanghai Masters last month.

Frances Tiafoe has been fined $120,000 (almost £95,000) for swearing repeatedly at umpire Jimmy Pinoargote after receiving a time violation during last month’s Shanghai Masters.

Launching a series of F-Bombs at the chair umpire in Shanghai last month proves costly for Frances Tiafoe. The ATP hit Tiafoe with a $120,000 fine for verbally abusing the chair umpire at last month's Rolex Shanghai Masters.

The ATP said that its fines committee handed Frances Tiafoe a penalty of $60,000 for aggravated behavior on top of the maximum on-site fine of $60,000 he got for verbal abuse.

Just days after rubbing shoulders with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, American tennis star Frances Tiafoe’s bank account took a major hit. Tiafoe, 26, was levied with a $120k fine on Thursday, November 15 for his vulgar beratement of a chair umpire at the ATP Shanghai Masters event on October 8.
